Sparkly!

Aware that my boatie trip shots so far have been a bit claustrophobic, blurry and dark, I resolved to take a big sparkly bright shot with lots of blue and brightness. And voila! Here it is.
We'd got away from Stonehaven at 7am - a beautiful day with a light breeze in from the NE so we motor-sailed up the coast on a close haul. I read Slocum in between chats, in between caramel logs, in between cups of tea, in between seabird spotting. And at one point a dolphin leapt clean out the water several times - though it was a cable off our starboard side (get me!).
[That reminds me, coming into Stonehaven the night before, we were escorted in by several dolphins breaking out the water right alongside the boat. It was a grand sight.]
Anyway, we could see haar ahead and just at the lighthouse a mile short of Peterhead we were right in it. Jeesus, it was thick - visibility 50m at times. What did people do before chart plotters and AIS? Anyway, it lifted just as we hit the harbour entrance and we were in bright sun and blue skies again.
So, that's Part 1 over - the boat is secured and we'll be up again in a couple of weeks to continue. Cheers to Cap'n M and Cabin Boy M. I made sure I got the First Mate's mug at all times.
