Clouds

Another full on day in the studio....glazing and decorating, unloading the kiln.....sorting out orders, packing pots etc....and looking at the amazing cloud formations!

I subscribe to an interesting pastel artist here and yesterdays post was about really looking at clouds! they are very tricky to paint and i'm always frustrated when trying to do them. She suggests doing some paintings of skies without photographs, plein air.....and i agree, it is the best way to learn. but today the clouds were so dramatic and i just couldn't find the time or space to do a painting! so, i'll use the many photographs i took and try painting skies over the weekend.

off to a fabulously fun evening at Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design. it's just what i need....a glass or 2 of wine with some very creative folks!
