Saturday 16 January 2010: In Flight
Another day being torn on bird pics to use. Not the clearest because the light wasn't great, so had to bump up to an 800 ISO, but Mel's dad gets such a cracking array of birds visiting his back garden.
The main other choices were:
Chaffinch Landing
Greenfinch Shout
Greenfinch Squabble
The Goldfinches, Blue Tits, Coal Tits, Sparrows and Dunnocks didn't pose quite as well. And the Great Spotted Woodpecker was just too far away.
Easy-going day, grabbing breakfast at the Farmers Market, before going looking for some flooring for the house, and trying on some new walking shoes. Mel's having a snooze, and I think I'm going to try and sort a couple of things around the house before getting the last of the stuff needed for dinner (venison with sloe gin glaze, bubble & squeak and candied shallots!).
Tomorrow should be busy with a walk from Balerno along the Water of Leith to, erm, Leith. The start of our Caledonian Challenge training. Wonder if I can fit in a first proper turbo training session in the garage as well...
