Contact sport

Not quite the location I was expecting to watch the first match of Andy Murray’s defence of his Wimbledon title….and definitely not where Son2 expected to be today either. Following a rather dramatic turn of events at a football tournament yesterday and a couple of theatre postponements he finally underwent surgery on his broken right distal radius today. He is now all wired and plastered and taking lots of painkillers.

This is the second time I’ve been with Son2 when he’s been put under anaesthetic and it doesn’t get any easier. My (not so) little boy has been very brave throughout though and I’m very proud of him.

Now we need to work out what to do about the Duke of Edinburgh expedition he's going to have to miss this week and his end of year exams which start next week…
