The whales view

I went on a whale watching cruise from Newcastle Harbour. This was the view off the Cowrie Hole where the whales were the other day. You can see the ocean baths on the left and the Canoe Pool beside it to it's left and then to their right the Cowrie hole, Fort Scratchley and Nobbys Surf Club and Kiosk and towering on the skyline the Cathedral. My regular blip stamping ground. I think they were crazy going out. There were 60 kph winds with gusts up to 80 kph. They were coming from the west and hence the waves seemed to be in reverse. We saw a breach in the distance and some others a little closer but the conditions were really quite dangerous and the camera was mainly packed away in it's bag. They have offered us another cruise on standby which was good of them.
