Xmas night out

Way back in December we had to postpone our tai chi club xmas night out due to blizzards and storms. We then tried for a Chinese New Year celebration instead but failed at that too (can't mind why) and what with one thing and another the year has passed by in a flash and we decided we better get on with it.

Had a great meal in Helgi's in Kirkwall. Sitting overlooking the harbour in lovely wee pub on beautiful summer's evening with the place full of all different nationalities it all felt very cosmopolitan. Although the tourists did keep giving us slightly alarmed glances when snatches of conversations about swords and the best way to kill someone with a pen drifted over to them.

Forgot to take my camera to town so instead it's a pic of the lighthouse on Copinsay glinting in the sunshine.
