bird's eye view

We had a great day today. It was very hot. London was having its hottest day so far.
We met the girl at Victoria and took a bus to the Natural History Museum. It was even hotter inside and it was mobbed with groups of schoolchildren in high vis jackets but the boy enjoyed looking round, especially at the Earth installation with all the different kinds of rocks.
Then we took the tube to Covent Garden and had lunch in a Morroccan restaurant where it was pleasantly cool and dim and the food was delicious, the boy really enjoying trying out new flavours.
We had a walk around Neal's Yard, and watched the street performers in Covent Garden market. And generally wandered around, getting very hot. We went to the London Eye and had ice cream in the shade and thought it was too hot to go up in one of those little capsules.
We went back to the hotel to freshen up then set off again for Liverpool Street for a fantastic dining experience at the Sushisamba on the 38th floor of the Heron Tower where the views of the city were awesome.
I took lots of pictures all day but this easily beat all even though it was taken on my tablet as I had been persuaded to leave the camera behind.
We all, but the boy especially, loved the whole experience, and the amazing foods. He now loves sushi.

A fantastic day altogether.
