The second half of life..

Wharariki fun.......

Well - if you like strolls along beaches in near gale-force winds with the sand shredding your legs/face (depending on whether you were walking into the wind or with the wind) then it was fun!

And don't even mention 'bad hair day'.....!!!

But the company certainly was fun and I'm so pleased we did it.

This is K. She was a flatmate of mine many years ago and now lives in England with hubby and 3 little Pomki kids (er - that's a phrase I just made up and means kids born to Kiwi parents but raised in Pommie land! I think it could catch on!)

Anyway, once, many years ago, K and I took a day trip out to Wharariki beach. To cut a longer story back to bare bones, we had waaaay too close an encounter with a seal on the island you can just see a bit of in the background. It's an event that left us both with serious jelly-legs and near uncontrollable laughter (...bordering on tears I'm sure!) and is something that still brings laughter now. As K and co are visiting from England it was only right that we revisited the place. It's just a pity that the wind was sooooo strong today and made the going for everyone a bit tough. But hey - we survived the seal island attack, we can survive a bit of wind ;)
