Destination Iona

Cal set off this morning on the stupid o'clock train to Glasgow then Oban then ferry then bus across Mull then ferry then walk to his campsite on the beautiful Scottish island of Iona. He's camping for 6 weeks and doing his mapping fieldwork for his Geology degree dissertation. If any blippers are Iona bound this summer go and say hi. Should be easy to spot in his hard hat, clipboard and knocking lumps off rocks.

This meant us getting up a stupid o'clock to get to the stupid o'clock train along with all the other stupid o'clock risers that where on Preston Station and then I met someone that I knew!

There were lots of festival goers taking advantage of cheap early train to Edinburgh for the T in the Park Festival this weekend.

By the time I post this Cal should be almost on location.

BTW his kit weighs and absolute tonne. I did carried his lunch as far as the train for him.
