Gently down the stream

Deserted farm

Well, I found this deserted farm, right on the edge of the village of Itchen Abbas. Blippers' paradise and luckily it has a footpath running up the edge of the yard. Apart from the footpath, the whole place is covered in giant thistles and nettles. It reminded me of the first verse of that de la Mare poem we must all have read / had read to us as kids:

Thistle and darnell and dock grew there,
And a bush, in the corner, of may,
On the orchard wall I used to sprawl
In the blazing heat of the day;

..except, of course, that there was no donkey, no 'Nicholas Nye'

Anyway, I'm sure I'll blip there again - snow strikes me as a good moment for this.

Happy Friday xx
