against future requirements

Neither the new sack barrow nor the wheelbarrow (nor Edgar's smaller wheelbarrow) were particularly well-suited to dragging dumpybags of dock and nettle from the plot to the car, but it was possibly slightly quicker using them for most of the trips than it would have been to hoick them onto my back and then stretch my arms up as high as possible to keep the bag both off the ground and stop it from blocking my vision. The sack barrow was acquired with one very specific purpose in mind, so its ill-suitedness to floppy loads can be excused.
