Porty People and Places

We took the Haar away from Glasgow, almost all day! Edinburgh is like that!! We were not at all jealous of the Mediterranean conditions with which the triathlons were blessed as we lurked stoically below the cloudy murk! After lunch, a little later than advertised by the forecasters the sun finally came out on the coast. The blue sky and the bright sunshine made for hot work for our repointing work here. Ironically if this hot weather continues it will be far from ideal for the team when they start to do the lime work!

I thought that last night's opening ceremony of The Commonwealth Games accomplished what it set out to do and largely got the balance right and most importantly never tried to out smart London 2012. By doing its own thing it reminded us all what it is about Glasgow that makes it a unique city!
