Red shutters

Today we held our family festivities postponed from December by the problems with Eurostar. We walked to our garden (on the hill outside the garden) for apéritifs accompanied by olives from our own tree. Then back home for a long lunch - gambas (large prawns) cooked with red pepper, garlic and pastis, sea bass for fish eaters, roast duck for meat eaters, roquefort and Pyrenean goats' cheese, a wonderful chocolate gateau from our village boulangerie, coffee and some of our neighbour's wild cherries which have been soaking in Armagnac since last May.

A lovely bright sunnny day, with shadows like this one, for our apéros in the garden.

Sorry I'm not commenting much at the moment but with the family here for such a short time I'm making the most of being with them.
