A day in the Lakes

Up and out by 8.45 this morning to drive up to Bassenthwaite to meet up with Paul, Zoe and family.

Largely, it has been raining - it was particularly damp as we wandered to the stone circle at Castlerigg.

Lovely meal in Keswick and a bit of a mooch about then I hit my limit and needed pain relief.

Driving home (Corin drove), we have had bright sunshine, some drizzle, a rainbow, a biblical storm that rendered my windscreen wipers as useful as a chocolate fireguard, more sunshine and arrival at home in another thunderstorm.

Was lovely to see everyone, despite the relative brevity of our visit.

This was taken at Killington services on the southbound M6, as we drank coffee outside in the sunshine and watched a heron stalking lake side.
