We hot-tailed it to Würzburg today. Managed to find a hotel - there were 3 festivals and a bank holiday so everywhere was pretty booked up.

It's an interesting town - old and new. This picture was taken at the Franken Wine festival, whose spirit, (maybe you can't really tell here), was somewhat dampened (oh dear) by horrible wet weather.

We drank some really good wine, not only at the festival but also in a Weinkeller. It was the first time that I consciously enjoyed Riesling. I guess it's never too late.

Topped our night off with dinner which for me was an amazing seafood Flammkuchen and for Biggs, the Currywurst to end all Currywursts.
