The Children of Cambodia

"Stop the minibus, look at those rustic fishing boats!"

As soon as we got out at the fishing village the kids flocked around wide eyed and giggly with excitement. The Cambodian children I have met are a pleasure to be around, so well behaved, always grinning and waving enthusiastically. These children live a simple life but seem well looked after, happy and keen to spend time with you. I could have happily spent all day with them.

All the houses in the village are on stilts because in a few weeks the water level will have risen so high they need boats to get out and about. Some sadly have to relocate during rainy season. In some areas the water level rises higher than the trees.
