On Bathampton Down

BYM Gathering, Day 6. This morning I went on a guided walk across Bathampton Down, just north of the campus. John and Sally, two lovely Friends from York whom I last saw at Woodbrooke over two years ago, turned up as well. We all agreed to be 'back markers' for the group, so were able to walk along together chatting and catching up. John served in the Army in Northern Ireland and is now active in 'Veterans for Peace' - so much to talk about!

Part of our route took us along the Skyline Walk, with spectacular views across the city. At the point where we stopped and I took this picture, a National Trust Working Party were putting up a bench - they very helpfully offered us all maps of the whole Skyline Walk route. Definitely something to come back for!
