East Machias, rail trail view

We had a walk to East Machias this morning on a trail made from the old rail bed. My grandmother Nora walked that way, along the tracks to high school every day when she boarded in Machiasport so she could attend Washington Academy. It's still going strong after 220 years as an independent school.

Later we drove south to Jonesport, crossed the bridge to Beals Island and took in some sights and another delicious lobster roll .

Home is where the anchor falls, Beal's island, Maine.

Now we're reading on the deck, me about the Roosevelts, T, the Maine woods. and watching boats on the river, hummingbirds and smelling the salt air.

For the Record,
This day came in sunny and glorious again!

All hands healthy
