The Black Spout

The Black Spout waterfall runs 180 ft. high on the Edradour Burn. It is in Black Spout Wood, which is situated to the south of the Highland resort town of Pitlochry

Today we were walking from Pitlochry to Killicrankie; we left home in the rain and returned home in the rain, but up at Pitlochry we had a lovely walk in dry weather and sunshine in the afternoon. It was a lovely walk through deciduous forest up to the pretty village of Moulin, passing the ruins of the Black Castle of Moulin, and from there to Balnacraig and then Craigowar and then dropped down to Killicrankie.

Had some time to visit the Soldier's Leap, where a n English soldier is reputed to have leapt about 16 ft. over the river to escape capture. At least that's the story.

Had some free time in Pitlochry and walked down to the Power Station and Dam at Loch Faskally, and saw the fish ladder for the salmon and sea trout returning to Loch Faskally.

A super day, and an enjoyable fish supper when we got home.
