Dunkery Beacon

Day 6. Highest point on Exmoor at 1705ft. The intention was to do a linear walk over the hill and me cycle back to get the car. It was such a cracking day that we carried on walking over the moors clad in purple heather. The smell was fantastic. On top of the hill you meet all the lazy walkers who have spent 30mins walking from the nearest carpark. It took us 2 hrs to walk to the top and we probably climbed nearly all the 1705ft through the Horner Woods which has many 'Ent' shaped ancient trees. Finish with cream tea in a lovely flowery tea garden. Last full day tomorrow before moving on to Devon.
