possum magic..

..on an early Monday morning.

This is the equivalent of a possum 'apple core' and the ground was littered with them under a eucalyptus tree that is obviously possum central.
One of our morning walkers is J...nature knowledge gal extraordinaire.....and we are privileged to hear a tiny tweet of bird song and learn there is a Spotted Pardelote in the eucalypt canopy.

J identified the munch marks of a possum, gnawing on a gum nut held in both claws....as opposed to the munch marks of the parrots (and that is a whole different story)
