...on the supermarket shelf and always very eye catching and somehow very Italian with the strong colours and logo.

Sirena (Italian for mermaid, hence the mermaid!) is in fact Australian,
founded however by the Italian Valmorbida family.
On arriving in Aus from Italy in 1949 they were greeted with a diet of 'chops and three veg' and father Carlo decided to develop a tuna product for the Italian community.
It's been in delis since 1956 and now graces supermarket shelves with a very fancy selection of flavours and combinations.

Interesting too is that a sustainability ethos features high on their web site, downto individual inked code stamps on each can identifying where the fish in that can was sourced.
