The reason why we're all in San Diego

Today was the big day, the reason why we and lots of other people had made their way to San Diego from England and other parts of the States.

I've had the privilege of seeing both my sons get married and both have been very special events.

It was a different start to a wedding day to what you might expect. A good walk followed by a rough and tumble in the Pacific Ocean, by when it was time to get dressed up and go down to meet the van which was taking 10 of the English contingent to the wedding at Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club a few miles north of San Diego.

From there on in, it was, like my other son's wedding, a great day in a picture perfect setting.

The ceremony was held outdoors, the weather is dependable here, and and was a joy to watch. The important ladies were escorted in by the groomsmen, then came the bridesmaids, then a cute flower girl and finally Babe, the dog, with accessories for the occasion. It was the most subdued I'd ever seen her!

From the ceremony close family went for photographs from where this shot was taken. The bride and groom went off for further shots on their own while we retired for cocktail hour.

Then it was on to speeches and I was privileged to be asked to say a few words which is unusual for the father of the groom and very brave of Chris to ask!

Finally into the dancing and cake-cutting as the evening slipped too quickly away and it was time to see off the bride and groom with a huge shower of bubbles. Then it was all over. So ended another day of days. They are coming thick and fast at the moment.
