The Edge of the Wold

Geese

This is where the River Bela enters the Kent estuary at Sandside, seen from the old railway embankment. A flock of geese has been loafing here recently as I've passed in the mornings and evenings. A few of the Canada geese were reflecting in the channel, detached from the rest of the flock. The bank of cloud was hardly moving, light from the sun was streaming from its edge, and the gently rippled water was reflecting the sky.

I only stopped here this evening to give Gus a stretch of the legs after he had been sat in the car from 1 pm. The poor lad is tired tonight after running big rings around Rowan who was chasing the ball as we walked round the bend in the river at Watercrook. And now I need to give Gus a quick run up to the woods before it gets dark. I shall be back later.
