MonoMonday # 27 ..... Sky ....

………… hopefully this is thinking a little outside the box (it did come in a box originally) …..

The sky this morning was a beautiful shade of pink and pale orange – perfect for blipping but, as luck would have it, today is MonoMonday and there wasn’t a cloud in sight to make it “work” in b/w ….. it just looked flat ….. so this is the satellite dish on our house that enables us to receive our “Sky” television channels!!

We live too far out in the country to get any cable channels so Sky it is (other television programme suppliers are available).

Thanks to wetcoastbob for hosting yet again .... and next week's challenge, I understand, is "Time" ......

The last day at work for Himself (see yesterday’s blip) and tonight we fly off for a week’s holiday somewhere warm to celebrate (thanks, Mum, for watching the house) ….. I will leave you to guess where from the photos I hope to post over the next few days …. fingers crossed for (free) wi-fi.

Thank you very, very much for the good wishes yesterday – I passed them all on.

I saw this poem recently and thought it really summed up my outlook on life - so this is my “thought for the day”:

Train of Life

Some folks ride the train of life
Looking out the rear,
Watching miles of life roll by,
And marking every year.

They sit in sad remembrance,
Of wasted days gone by,
And curse their life for what it was,
And hang their head and cry.

I don't concern myself with that,
I took a different vent,
I look forward to what life holds,
And not what has been spent.

So strap me to the engine,
As secure as I can be,
I want to be out on the front,
To see what I can see.

I want to feel the winds of change,
Blowing in my face,
I want to see what life unfolds,
As I move from place to place.

I want to see what's coming up,
Not looking at the past,
Life's too short for yesterdays,
It moves along too fast.

So if the ride gets bumpy,
While you are looking back,
Go up front, and you may find,
Your life has jumped the track.

It's all right to remember,
That's part of history,
But up front's where it's happening,
There's so much mystery.

The enjoyment of living,
Is not where we have been,
It's looking ever forward,
To another year and ten.

It's searching all the byways,
You never should refrain,
For if you want to live your life,
You gotta drive the train!
