Cape Weed Dandelion Seed Head

The Cape Weed Dandelion seems to be everywhere at the moment and their yellow petals are speckled across the landscape wherever you look. I picked a few empty seed heads to see how they really looked under the macro and was quite fascinated by their intricate shapes.

They are a serious weed and a big problem everywhere. Native to South Africa they started their lives here as an ornamental garden flower, quite amazing that they have now spread to all parts of Australia.

I must actually blip the flower too because it has a wonderful purple centre which I never realised before.
