Red Cabbage, Maria's recipe. A tribute.

Mixed with lightly browned onions and slightly cooked, salt and pepper added, it is a lovely dish with grated cheese sprinkled on top.

Served together with the cabbage were meat frikkadels on rice and young green beans.

It was good.

Today was Maria's birthday and she has been with our family for quite a few years. First she helped Lindy when the twins were born, and what a great nanny she was!
Then Edric came along, and a few months later Cecilia, from Blanche and Chris, was born - once again Maria looked after these infants as if they were her own!
And then Christoff made his appearance, yes, Maria took over.

Since then, all of these little ones have either become schoolies or have started attending a playgroup/junior school ...

Thank you Maria for all your loving care, wisdom, patience and understanding. Your presence have made life so much better.
May you choose to stay within our family for a long, long time!
