Singing praises

On my walk in the Arboretum this morning, I saw so much beauty I felt like singing. Not wanting to scare away other park visitors I sang silently, but it lifted my heart anyway. I stopped to take a picture of a white hydrangea against the blue sky, and thought I saw something fly into the frame just as I lifted the camera. I looked again and discovered this hummingbird buzzing around the tall bush. Totally unexpected and what a treat! You can see another picture of the hummer here.

Another keeper from today's walk was this water lily. It looks like it may be the last one of the season on the Lily Pond. I posted a few more pictures here in my first Fall photo gallery. Take a look if you have the time.
