Old lace

This morning we went to Crook Hall and gardens which are very near the hotel where we are staying. It had rained in the night and was very misty. The gardens were lovely but this rose caught my eye. I think that the mistiness and the raindrops make this look like old lace!This afternoon we went to the Beamish open air museum which is one of the biggest in the country. It tells the story of the people of North East England during the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian periods. Historic trams and buses were there to transport us around when we needed a lift! It was amazing how the smells evoked old memories and also how many things that we actually remember from our parents and grandparents houses!!
