Durham Castle and Cathedral

We left home in bright sunshine and drove the scenic route through the edge of the Lake District and Yorkshire to Durham. When we got here it was dull and misty and we decided to go for a walk around Durham before the meeting started. This is a view taken whilst we were on our walk.
Then we all (117 of us, approximately half French and half English) met for a glass of Champagne before walking up to the Castle for a buffet supper. The buffet meal was very good and the castle was amazing. Whilst we were eating we were treated to music from a local brass band which was brilliant! So far, this seems like it will be an excellent few days!
