Nicky and her Nikon

Hanging in there!

After a lovely morning including a walk to the village with Murdoch, and making another pot of pea and mint soup, we went to watch Adam's rugby match after lunch. (Thomas was bitterly disappointed that his match was cancelled, due to the opposition not being able to field a team).

It was a very exciting match as after Adam's team scoring the first try, they ended up being down by 7-10 at half time. The coach must have had a very good team talk as after half time they came back fighting hard, and they won by 22-10. I don't think they lost one line out, as can be seen here, with Adam being very effective.

Then home to a lovely dinner (pea soup for starters!) and now I am helping Adam fill out his UCAS * application which has to be in to school for their internal deadline by Monday.

* For those outside the UK, students apply to university on a form called the UCAS form in which they apply to 5 universities, and it includes all their personal details, academic results and the onerous 'personal statement'. It is tricky as the same form goes to 5 different universities and some universities really differ in what they are looking for in a student, so the personal statement has to take this into account and be quite balanced.
