Snow, sheep and Shapinsay

Set of this morning in beautiful sunshine and green fields to go to a meeting in Kirkwall. As we crossed the barriers we obviously crossed the Equator and hit a blizzard.

It was a white out all the way to town. When it stopped and the sun shone, all was white and snowy and bright cold skies.

Left Kirkwall about 3pm to return to the deep south where the undergrass heating and the sun lamps were still fully functioning.

BTW apart from sheep and snow, the shot shows a bit of Kirkwall and beyond to the Island of Shapinsay where, if you look at the pic BIG you might just about be able to make out Balfour castle sitting near the shore. It's the most northerly castle hotel in the UK and if you have loads of dosh you can stay there and shoot things.
