Lavender Fingers

ornamental grass fringes
swishing sweepers of air
waving, finely gloved
pointing skyward
with the breeze
now saluting geese
soaring south,
reaching out to catch
falling leaves
redder than their
lavender fingers bravely
extending summer’s green
now swaying, shaking
in the north wind
bearer of crisp days
dressed only in brown


For the Record,
This day came in sunny and colder, a big rain storm will move in after Halloween night. Fall back time change this weekend, that should mess us al up for a bit!
