Hung out to dry

The leaves fall away,
Revealing hidden places,
Lost to memory.

This is a, rather sadly, derelict cottage on the edge of an equally derelict walled garden. The garden is huge and must have been very fine in its day. However now the wall are a tumbling down and all is overgrown.

I am assuming this was the gardeners cottage, clearly not used for many years. I'm not sure why or how a rotary line came to be in the chimney .... but it does seem a rather undignified end for this cottage .....

... I may investigate further ....
