The Edge of the Wold

Sun bird

Another view of the sun setting in Morecambe Bay, every one is different. This was from Jack Scout where I took Gus for his afternoon walk. The solitary gull appeared when called and positioned himself in just the right place. If seen large, the wind turbines at the mouth of the Bay are faintly visible, one in front of the sun.

It was a day of working at home. I needed to pick up a book from the library, and there are no evening opening hours at the moment. The book is Naomi Klein's 'This changes everything', a hard look at how we turn the other way when confronted with the evidence of climate change. But it isn't just foretelling doom, instead offering hope that there is still time and actions we can take, though it means changing everything. Perhaps I will feel more optimistic than I currently do when I have read it. And it is difficult to feel gloomy after half an hour walking by the Bay at sunset.
