Brush pot

Feeling a bit under the weather today so spent most of my time watching movies in front of the fire.

In between I tried out my new Chinese calligraphy brushes and ink stone.... hmm think a lot of practice is required to get something even half way decent. I shall persevere.

When tidying up I realised that the perfect place to keep my brushes was this lovely little vase that was a gift from my tai chi instructor. Made by his wife it is a beautiful shape and the colours and shades in the glaze are gorgeous - neither of which I have done justice in this pic. Hopefully it will inspire me to produce beautiful calligraphy.
