the spot

I only noticed that there was now a branch of Black Medicine on Barclay Terrace last Tuesday, though have already managed to wander past a few times already and shall hope that it's still open the next time I happen to wander into the Cameo, to whose kiosk's coffee Black Medicine's coffee is significantly superior. Unfortunately what appeared to be a nice chocolate muffin in the muffin display area turned out to be just a display muffin (though also slightly fortunately in that in light of the new information it was clearly the same muffin which had been on the same plate three days ago) so I had to settle for a mere cookie. Significantly quieter of music than the proper version on South Bridge and far less deafeningly chatful than the youth edition on Marchmont Road but significantly smaller and less suited to opportunistic anthropology, though ideally placed for a convenient stop on a leisurely trundle. Someone had thoughtfully left the correct newspaper on the right table, too.
