Submarine's Ahoy!

A happy afternoon wandering around Cramond, including a wee donder over to the island for the first time. The walkway across is about a mile long, and gets completely submerged many feet under water at high tide. Discovered that these huge concrete pillars were the undersea defences against enemy submarines sneaking up the Forth - amazing to think of that possibility now.

It was a grey, blowy day, though the sun threatened occasionally. The bright red of this woman's jacket as she and her companion headed back to the shore caught my eye. It was a tough choice though for today's blip - and maybe should have gone with this one of the beach - the patterns were lovely.
