Kitchen clutter

A bit of a rainy-day photo today coupled with the usual Friday problem of working from home so not getting out walking. Anyway, I was taking photos of Ellen playing her shoe game when I spotted this. In the shoe game, she takes all the shoes from under the stairs and lines them up more or less in descending order of size. If Mandy sees this and slaps me about for putting the messy kitchen on show, I might swap the shoe game in later.

Everything gathers around the Aga - the dishes out of the dishwasher, Ewan's school bag, wee bits of washing, the toys that go swimming - to leech the heat that is always there. I'm wholly unrepentant about the Aga even thought they're an environmentalist's bête noire. It was here when we moved in and (apart from the four walls) it is literally all that's left of the house we bought. Everything else was ripped out.

If you make it large you can have a right good nosey.

In other news - got a new aquarium today. Not sure when a fish tank becomes an aquarium but this one looks daft with its gallons of water and its two wee tetras. It'll be a couple of weeks before we can add more fish.
