Reflections....

I'm reading one of those books that is impossible to be far away from.....i read it any chance i get.....and now that i'm close to the end, i'm slowing down, savoring each word, paragraph....page....it is a book that is giving me pause to reflect!

"Edge Seasons" by Beth Powning, is a memoir so full of resonating emotions, thoughts, feelings....she is in her mid 40's as she writes this book...her son almost grown out of their home....and she is returning to the writing she set aside while raising her son. 'Filled with gorgeous descriptions of the natural world, Beth masterfully weaves her acutely observed descriptions of the countryside with the story of her own intimate transformations. They produce an intense memoir of a year-long journey that illuminates how change can shatter even as it strengthens."

She is also, incidentally, married to a well known Canadian potter whose work i really admire.

It's one of those books i'll have to reread!

In other news....we have a couple of absolutely delightful WWOOFERS (Willing workers on Organic Farms) from Belgium. They arrived late yesterday afternoon and will stay for about a week. They spent some time digging up weeds in the garden in preparation for planting soon. Their timing is just right on and we're glad to have their help.....they also made the most delicious quiche for dinner!!!
