I discovered the Jewish Quarter today. It's just a short walk from where I am staying and has been home to many people of jewish descent since the twelfth century. Many of the inhabitants were deported to concentration camps during the last war, but it remains vibrant - full of cafes, bakeries, groceries and kosher food stores. The small shops were very tempting and I had a leisurely stroll taking everything in.
