A memorial to the mine layers based at Kyle of Lochalsh in World War 2.
The plaque on the base is almost unreadable, but basically the ship dragged it's anchor in a gale and fouled the nearby ammunition ship. There was an explosion onboard the ship and the whole town had to be evacuated. Luckily there was no loss of life, but the ship wreck is still there, but the mines, you'll be glad to here were salvaged by the Royal navy.
