Outside the chateau

We met our Occitan theatre group in the car park here, we thought to rehearse one act of our play which we were going to perform tomorrow to an assembly of the hunters' association. Due to a very Mediterranean muddle and lack of organisation it seems we won't be doing it after all. Some relief in a way as we weren't really well enough prepared for this first performance and I'm quite glad of a free weekend after our week away!

The tower in the photo is the lanterne of the chapel at the chateau which was consecrated on 6 October 1115 - I find it hard to believe that the exact date is recorded after nearly 900 years!

The Chateau de Cassan itself was built in the 1750s and it's the building which can be seen on the hill in the top right corner of my homecoming blip.
