Sunday 23 May 2010: Warming up
The purpose of this holiday - apart from the obvious - is for my other half to surf for 5 days at the Lanzarote Surf School (a Christmas present from me). Today's our first day - I say 'our' but I mean his - I'll do a day later in the week. Surfing is full of attractions but looks incredibly demanding and way beyond my skills. (I am to discover just how true this is later in the week).
The days follow a pattern - warm up, an hour of surfing, a talk on waves/tides/surf etiquette/meteorology/rips etc, then another hour, then a lunch break, and more of the same in the afternoon.
It's very hot today and being in the sea has its attractions for sure!
