Guardian angel

There's a county park not far from home - beautiful spot - long road back to wetlands, wildlife, and the inter-coastal waterway. Been back there a number of times and noticed a pull-off. Today, I pulled off, parked, and walked a ways back to a serene opening amongst the trees. Turns out, it is an old family burial site - nicely maintained and interesting. This guardian angel stands in the center of a large rectangular plot of about a dozen graves and memorial stones. The family ancestors can be traced back to the beginning of settlement in the area - 1655! The names begin with Samuel Horry, the man for whom the present day county is named. I will return to this site for more blips, for sure.
