David's Blips

505 miles

The longest part of the entire road trip today. 505 miles. Taking just under 8 hours to do. The equivalent drive of Aberdeen to London. Through most of Nebraska, a state with very little to see and do and the threat of a tornado looming in every cloud formation.

Emma drove the whole way. She's handling the American roads like someone who's driven them all her life. I'm glad she's taken on that role. My only responsibility is to keep an eye on the Sat Nav and to top the car up with gas.

We're now in Denver. The skyline shown in this photograph I took out the car window on our approach towards the city.

We're more than half way across the USA. That's an impressive feat when you see it on the map. It's bigger than you could ever imagine. We're not half way through the driving though as our route starts to zigzag over the next couple of weeks. Heading north for a bit, then far south and eventually to the California coast, but that seems a lifetime away yet.
