Birthday Boy!!!

Today is Jacks birthday!! He is now four years old...I can't believe it, it seems like yesterday he was born!

Four years ago today, Jack was born by emergency C-section...a month and a half early! He weighed 5 lbs. 1 oz. and had a pretty good amount of black hair. He was transferred to a higher level hospital about 25 minutes away from where he was born and stayed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for the next 6 weeks. It was the hardest 6 weeks of my life. All we wanted to do was take him home, but he needed to be fed through a tube in his nose and needed monitoring because of erratic breathing and heartbeat. We spent every second we could while he was there, holding him, feeding him and doing everything we could to make it feel as 'normal as possible' for us.

Today, Jack is a happy, healthy four year old with no health problems at all. He is the light of our lives, and is definitely the best thing that could have ever happened to us!!!
