Long Tan memorial mosaic

In the middle of Bidwill, Western Sydney, of all places, in a little park, I happened upon this memorial mosaic to D Company, Sixth Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment of the Australian Army, for their part in the battle of Long Tan in Vietnam.

It always saddens me, what humans will do to other humans. I'm moved by the valour soldiers like these show, but saddened and angered that they should have to do so.
