The Eyes.

This picture is taken of a book called Missile Happy. It's obviously not your normal book; it's full of drawings called Manga.

One thing I admire about anime and manga artists is the detail that goes into every single eye - the shading; the patterns; the lines. I sometimes try and replicate such drawings, but always mess up the eyes somehow, and end up rubbing it all out, and starting again.

You can try drawing any human or animal, but what makes that drawing come to life, is the eyes. Sometimes eyes aren't just for seeing, but for showing true emotion, like a secret little insight into a being's soul.

You may be able to fake it on the outside, and smile like nothing is wrong, but there will always be that one thing that will tell the truth...
