Pink tent

When this new pavilion at the National Eisteddfod was introduced some years ago it was quite controversial, but I think people have got used to it now and the spires look great against a blue or grey sky. Today at Ebbw Vale it was mostly grey, but it didn't matter too much. I haven't been to an Eisteddfod for nearly twenty years and it was a whole new experience with our friends from the Midi who found it all exciting. We wondered around the stalls, had lunch with my daughter who is working there all week, and saw the chairing ceremony - one of the two biggest prizes for a poetry competition in Wales.

Sad, though, to remember throughout the day that this is the first Eisteddfod my sister hasn't been at for about 40 years.....
